A male is set to appear in court after Gardaí in the west of the country seized the cattle truck they were driving in recent days.

Gardaí from the Roscommon Roads Policing Unit brought the vehicle to a halt whilst conducting a checkpoint in Roscommon town.

According to a statement from Gardaí, “the driver was found to have been disqualified and had no insurance”.

“He was arrested and will appear in court,” the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, Offaly Gardaí have seized an electric tricycle with 1.5kw power following the detection of road traffic-related offences.

Gardaí brought the electric tricycle – which it says is an MPV under the Road Traffic Act – to a halt last month for no insurance or driving licence.
