Cattle prices fall slightly at Ballinasloe

Bullocks sold from €2.02-€2.59/kg, while heifers topped out at €2.12-€2.65/kg and cull cows went under the hammer from €480-€1,360 at Ballinasloe Mart on Wednesday (June 18th).

Speaking following the sale, a mart spokesperson said: “Prices back a little at our cattle sale today, a bit of rain might help things on for next week.”

“Thanks to all our customers for their patience with the social distancing restrictions still in place here at the mart.”

Bullocks – €720-€1,350:

  • 1 CH – 670kg – €1,350 – €2.01/kg;
  • 1 CH – 600kg – €1,340 – €2.23/kg;
  • 1 CH – 695kg – €1,280 – €1.84/kg;
  • 1 CH – 425kg – €1,100 – €2.59/kg;
  • 1 LM – 425kg – €1,100 – €2.59/kg;
  • 1 LM – 495kg – €1,200 – €2.42/kg;
  • 1 LM – 335kg – €800 – €2.39/kg.

Heifers – €790-€1350:

  • 1 LM – 590kg – €1,350 – €2.29/kg;
  • 1 SI – 680kg – €1,320 – €1.94/kg;
  • 1 LM – 630kg – €1,310 – €2.08/kg;
  • 1 LM – 400kg – €1,060 – €2.65/kg;
  • 1 LM – 440kg – €1,150 – €2.61/kg;
  • 1 LM – 470kg – €1,150 – €2.45/kg.

Averages:
