Lascurettes lands new position

Nuffield Ireland has announced the appointment of Catherine Lascurettes as the organisation’s new executive.

Catherine is a Nuffield Scholar, former dairy executive of the Irish Farmers’ Association and founder of Cúl Dara Consultancy, specialising in agri-policy.

She takes over from John Tyrrell, who has held the position for the past nine years.

Karen Brosnan, chair, Nuffield Ireland, said, “We are honoured to have Catherine take up this important role within the organisation.”

“She will take over from John Tyrrell, who has given outstanding service to Nuffield and leaves it in excellent shape.”

“Catherine is a Nuffield Scholar and has shown her commitment to Nuffield Ireland by serving as a director, secretary and treasurer, and in recent years, as a mentor to some of our new Scholars.”

“Beyond her strong affinity with the Nuffield ethos, her experience in Irish agribusiness, and her engagement with agri-food policy equip her uniquely to help develop Nuffield Ireland.”

Commenting on her appointment, Catherine Lascurettes said,

“I am delighted to be joining the Nuffield Ireland Team, and to start work with the board, new scholars, alumni and sponsors in a challenging and exciting time for Irish agriculture and food.”

“I aim to help Nuffield Ireland develop and implement its strategy to identify, develop and nurture potential world-class leaders who will promote positive change in sustainable agriculture, food and farming”.

Nuffield Conference 2021:

The Nuffield Ireland conference takes place in the Castleknock Hotel on Friday, November 12th, 2021.

The event will feature an expert panel discussion which will explore the theme ‘Future trends in agri-food policy – how does the sector need to respond?’.

2022 Nuffield Scholars

Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust Ireland has announced the details of five new Irish scholars as part of its 2022 programme.

The objective of the Irish Nuffield Farming Scholarship Trust is to identify future leaders of Irish agriculture. It aims to facilitate their ambition to bring about meaningful change for the benefit of their community.

Four scholars will commence their scholarship in 2022.

Following a two-stage interview process, the selection panel chose five candidates to receive this award. The new scholars for 2022 are:

  • David Dolan;
  • Aoife Feeney;
  • Lance Woods;
  • Pat Collins;
  • Nick Cotter.
