Castlerea Mart – Cattle Prices – 15-09-2022
According to Brendan Egan, some 600 lots crossed the scales at Castlerea Mart on Thursday, September 15th, 2022.
The mart manager reported that trade was aided by the recent spell of good weather.
He noted that “prices were maintained and in the case of the better-quality stores, improved”.
“The heifer ring witnessed excellent demand with the top-quality stores making up to €3.60/kg, while the heavier lots made up to €1,860.”
“The weanling rings, with increased numbers on offer, saw the top quality bulls make up to €4.06/kg, while heifer weanlings topped out at €4.21/kg.”
“Cows with calves at foot noticed increased demand this week with lots to €2,750. The dry cow rings noticed more store cows on offer this week with the heavier lots to €2,130,” Egan added.
