Farmers to be paid over €3,000 to feature in TV commercial

A production company has issued a casting call for farmers for a TV commercial for a well-known milk company.

Martin Gibbons Casting is seeking suitable Northern Irish-based personnel for the advertisement.

The firm is recruiting “men and women from different generations, lived in, interesting faces with characterful expressions”.

The successful candidates will be required to drive tractors while singing an early 90s classic dance tune!

Casting farmers 

The job posting reads as follows:

“We are looking for farmers; if not real farmers, then they need to look like they could be.”

“We are looking for men and women from different generations.”

“They will need to be comfortable in a field with cows…close to cows…possibly on a rainy day,” the listing ads.

It seeks:

  • Real farmers/ farm hands;
  • “People that could pass as farmers with some kind of musical/singing backgrounds”. Producers will consider theatre groups, choirs, singing clubs, musical clubs and

The company will pay £3,000 per candidate if successful.

Video shooting will take place on April 26th and April 27th, 2022.

How to apply 

The spokesperson continued: “Initially, all we want is your name, a photo, a contact number and the town where you live, please.”

“If you are an ‘actual farmer’, it is probably worthwhile mentioning this too. Please also let us know if you have any singing experience.”

“Send the email to [email protected] using the subject: farmer. We will then reply to selected people with details of what we want to see in a very brief self-tape – please do not send un-requested self-tape videos.”

“The deadline for emails is 11:59 pm on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022. We regret that we are only able to respond to those applicants we are selecting for self-tape,” the spokesperson concluded.
