Bullocks and heifers ‘continue on an upward curve’ at Castlerea

Over 450 entries were offered for sale at Castlerea Mart on Thursday, July 9th, according to Brendan Egan.

The mart manager noted that trade continued to remain very lively with a good attendance of customers.

“Buyers were present to source stores and with northern buyers and exporters present, a good clearance took place.”

“Bullocks and heifers continue on an upward curve while the top weanling heifers fetched €3.60/kg.”

“The dry cow trade and breeding stock reported good clearances while the calves/runners section has witnessed bigger turnout this week.”
