Blessington Mart – sheep prices – 16-11-2021
According to a spokesperson, all classes of sheep met with “a very strong” trade at Blessington Mart on 16-11-2021.
They reported this all stock found new homes at its weekly sheep sale.
Blessington Mart 16-11-2021:
- Heavy lambs – €166-€170 or €108-€115 over;
- Factory lambs – €145-€166 or €101-€112 over;
- Store lambs over 40kgs – €132-€144 or €86-€100 over;
- Also, Store lambs over 35kgs – €105-€130 or €70-€95 over;
- Store lambs over 30kgs – €85-€116 or €55-€84 over;
- Heavy ewes – €140-€168/head;
- Lighter ewes – €86-€136/head.
Last week’s sheep prices:
According to a spokesperson, a “very lively” trade prevailed for heavy lambs at Blessington Mart on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021.
They reported that store lamb prices were “similar” to the previous week.
Blessington Mart 09-11-2021:
- Heavy lambs – €155-€163;
- Factory lambs – €138-€155 or €88-€102;
- Stores over 40kgs – €120-€135 or €80-€93;
- Store lambs over 35kgs – €96-€120 or €66-€82 over;
- Store lambs over 30kgs – €68-90 or €38-€60 over;
- Heavy ewes – €138-€176/head;
- Lighter ewes – €80-€132/head.
Weanling prices:
Meanwhile, a spokesperson reported that a smaller entry went under the hammer at the mart’s weanling sale last Friday (November 12th, 2021).
They said that both bulls and heifers met with a “very lively” trade. “A lot of customers are still looking stock,” they remarked.
- Continental bulls – €380-€600 over;
- HE/AA bulls – €280-€460 over;
- Continental heifers – €330-€640 over;
- HE/AA heifers – €240-€380/head.
Cattle prices:
A spokesperson reported that a smaller entry was also on offer at its general cattle sale last Thursday (November 11th, 2021).
“Trade was similar to the previous week for all classes, they noted.
- Continental store bullocks – €460-€910 over;
- HE/AA store bullocks – €330-€570 over;
- Friesian store bullocks – €200-€460 over;
- Continental store heifers – €400-€640 over;
- HE/AA store heifers – €400-€460 over;
- Beef cows – €360-€740 over;
- Feeding cows – €160-€350 over.
