‘Be a good sport and let other road users know what you intend to do’

Police are highlighting the importance of using indicators to notify other road users of one’s intentions.

Police Mid & East Antrim took to social media yesterday (Tuesday, July 14th) to issue the reminder.

“How many of you fail to indicate your intention on the road? I have completed extensive research and can assure you that every car comes with indicators as standard, they are not an optional extra!”

“If you are at work and getting it tight and wonder if you are making a difference, just remember there’s an employee in Germany fitting indicators to BMW cars…..”

“If you put your phone out of reach, you should have a free hand to indicate.”

“Cody Hicks sings about ‘one more left turn’. Be a good sport and let other road users know what you intend to do. Stay safe.” the social media post concluded.
