Baltinglass Mart – sheep prices – 10-04-2021

All types of sheep met with a “very strong” trade at Baltinglass Mart on Saturday, April 10^th, 2021, according to Tom Coleman.

Speaking following the sale, the mart manager, said:

“Great demand and a good show of ewes with lambs at foot. There was almost a complete clearance of stock. Spring lambs were a good trade and numbers are starting to come out.”

• 2 55kg – €168;
• 3 50kg – €172;
• 1 50kg – €172;
• 2 60kg – €172;
• 4 47kg – €166;
• 4 41kg – €156;
• 2 42kg – €144;
• 1 30kg – €144;
• 5 41kg – €142;
• 2 40kg – €140;
• 7 35kg – €130;
• 8 34kg – €118;
• 5 30kg – €110;
• 6 30kg – €105;
• 2 26kg – €84;
• 6 30kg – €80.

Other categories:

• Ewes with lambs at foot were in “strong demand” and made up to €275/family;
• Cast ewes fetched from €65 up to €150.

Baltinglass Mart – 03-04-2021

A smaller entry of sheep was on offer at Baltinglass Mart on Saturday, April 3^rd, 2021, according to Tom Coleman.

The mart manager reported, “a small sale being Easter Saturday”. “Prices for all sheep were well maintained for last week.”
