Baltinglass Mart – Sheep Sale – 27-02-2021
There was a “very strong” farmer-driven trade for both heavy and store lambs at Baltinglass Mart on Saturday (February 27th), according to Tom Coleman.
He reported that lambs improved €4-€6/head on the previous week’s returns. A top price of €147 was forked out for 15 ewe lambs, weighing €40kg.

According to Tom Coleman, prices were up by €2-€4/head at the mart on Saturday, February 20th, with a top call of €155 for 52kg lambs.

Coleman reported an improved trade for lighter store bullocks and heifers at the mart’s most recent cattle sale.

- X2 LM – 300kg – €750;
- LM – 320kg – €740;
- X3 LM – 300kg – €690;
- LM – 270kg – €680.
Heifers:
- LM – 690kg – €1280;
- X3 CH – 470kg – €1020;
- X4 CH – 460kg – €1000;
- LM – 350kg – €750.
Other categories:
- Hereford and Shorthorn in-calf suckler cows and heifers made from €900 – €1,150;
