Hour-long Balmoral Show TV special to screen next week

UTV will screen highlights of the four-day extravaganza of Balmoral Show in a special hour-long programme next week.

Presenters, Paul Reilly and Sarah Clarke, will showcase the best of what the agricultural industry has to offer – the livestock, the locally-produced food and drink and plant and machinery.

For the equestrian lovers, Paul chats to horse trainer Willie Mullins, and former jockey, Richard Johnson. And there were the usual thrills and spills in the main arena with a Polo exhibition.

Paul and Sarah spokes to lots of participants in the various events and competitions at the show, be that equestrian, cattle showing and judging, or sheep shearing.

And Sarah got some time with some of the young handlers as they put their cows and goats through their paces.

There are interviews with the newly-elected president of the RUAS, Christine Adams, YFCU’s Peter Alexander and UFU president David Brown, who all talk about what the show means to them.

And to top it all, we even had a surprise birth this year at the show, and Sarah was on the scene!

Watch ‘UTV at the Show’ on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022, at 10.45 pm.

About the show

Balmoral Show 2022 (Wednesday, May 11th to Saturday, May 14th) takes place at Balmoral Park near Lisburn in Co. Antrim.

It is the largest agri-food, farm machinery and livestock event held during the summer. The major sponsor is Ulster Bank, and the platinum sponsors are ABP Group, Marks & Spencer’s, SPAR and TESCO.

Around 120,000 farmers, agribusiness personnel and urban consumers from Northern Ireland, the west of Scotland, the six border counties and further south usually visit the show – now back to business as usual after the Covid pandemic. Visitors are promised a fun-filled day out for all the family.
