Ballymote Mart Report – Cattle Sale – Thursday, February 11^th, 2021

Welcome to this week’s Ballymote Mart report. A yard of mainly continental-type stock met with an “excellent” trade at its beef bonanza sale, held in conjunction with usual lots, on Thursday, February 11^th, according to a spokesperson.

Bullocks under 500 kg sold from €400 to €745 over:

• LMX – 495 KG – €1,240;
• SIX – 495 KG – €1,190;
• CHX – 450 KG – €1,180.

Lots 500 to 600 kg climbed from €500 to €865 over:

• CHX – 595 KG – €1,460;
• LMX – 585 KG – €1,380;
• CHX – 580 KG – €1,390;
• LMX – 585 KG – €1,380;
• LMX – 565 KG – €1,380.

Heavier lots peaked at €995 over:

• CHX – 775 KG – €1,700;
• SIX – 705 KG – €1,670;
• CHX – 830 KG – €1,700;
• CHX – 695 KG – €1,690.

Heifers ranged from €500-€905 over:

• LMX – 495 KG – €1,400;
• CHX – 350 KG – €1,050;
• LMX – 520 KG – €1,200.

Dry cows made from €150 over (for Friesians) to €725 over:

• LMX – 615 KG – €1,340;
• LMX – 740 KG – €1,460.

Weanling bulls went under the hammer from €350 to €525 over:

• LMX – 320 KG – €810;
• CHX – 375 KG – €900;
• LMX – 320 KG – €890.

Weanling heifers pushed from €350 to €535 over:

• LMX – 365 KG – €900;
• LMX – 290 KG – €790;
• CHX – 300 KG – €800.
