Farming News Today: Agricultural Shows in Ireland
122 agricultural shows across the country are set to benefit from €1 million in funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development, following an announcement from Minister Humphreys on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023.
The funding allocation is up by 40% on last year and brings the total allocated to agricultural shows since 2018 to just shy of €3.3 million.
The Department of Rural and Community Development works with the Irish Shows Association (ISA) to administer and distribute financial supports to each Show.
The ISA is the officially recognised body representing Irish agricultural shows on the island of Ireland.
Galway-based agricultural shows have collectively been allocated the largest sum – €139,900 – followed closely by Cork at €138,985, while Co Laois is the recipient of the smallest sum – €8,525 – for its sole Clonaslee and District Show.
