There was a large turnout of “top-quality stock” at Roscommon Mart’s show and sale of weanlings on Tuesday, March 3rd, according to Maura Quigley.
The mart manager noted that weanling bulls averaged from €2.50-€3.52/kg. “There was a flying trade for weanling heifers with averages of €2.60/kg up to a high of €5.35 per kilo for the first-price winner, weighing 340 kgs and fetching €1,820.”
“The majority of customers this week were farmers and agents, while there were also a small number of exporters in attendance,” Quigley added.
