33-acre block of land with ‘long-term potential’ sells after auction

Jordan Auctioneers successfully sold 33.3-acres of land shortly after the property was offered for sale by public auction on Friday (October 2nd) last.

Ahead of the auction, the block of land in Mayfield, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare, adjacent to Junction 14, off the M7, was described as an ideal investment opportunity with “long-term potential”.

Auction result

A small attendance gathered for the auction, which was held under strict Covid-19 restrictions, and bidding opened at €250,000 for the property, which was quoted at €330,000.

There were two active parties up to €380,000, at which stage, the property was withdrawn and after brief negotiations, sold to the highest bidder for an undisclosed sum.

The land was in several divisions with access off two local roads the entire and was described by auctioneer Clive Kavanagh as “ideal for a range of enterprises in addition to the possibility of obtaining planning permission to construct a residence or for some commercial development in the longer term”.

The entire is currently in grass with natural boundaries and hedgerows throughout and is “ideal” for any number of uses.
