3 major cattle show and sales cancelled

The current coronavirus pandemic in Ireland has led to the cancellation of livestock show and sales.

Irish Hereford Breed Society

The Premier Hereford Show and sale has been postponed due to the outbreak. In a statement, a society spokesperson said:  “In the interest of health & safety, the premier Hereford show & sale in Tullamore that was due to take place on Saturday, March, 28th will now be postponed until further notice.”

“Apologies for any inconvenience caused. The sale will be rescheduled when appropriate to do so.” the spokesperson added. 

Irish Holstein Friesian Association

The Irish Holstein Friesian Association posted on their website: “Due to the developments surrounding COVID-19, both the IHFA Premier Bull Show and Sale and Emerald Expo 2020 will be cancelled.”

The Premier Bull Show and Sale was scheduled to take place in Nenagh Livestock Mart on Friday, April 3rd, while the Emerald Expo 2020 was to take on place on Saturday, April 25th, in Virginia Show Centre, Co. Cavan.
