A Suffolk ram lamb sold for 200,000gns at Lanark today (Friday, July 23rd), setting a new breed record price for his category.
Phil Poole’s Salopian ram lamb smashed the previous price record of 90,000gns for a ram lamb back in 2004.

Boden and Jenkinson acquired this December-born Solwaybank Rock Solid-sired ram lamb (Lot 129 V87:21:00850) at today’s society sale.
The dam is an Irongray Black Magic-sired Stockton ewe, who was the Royal Welsh Show breed champion as both a ewe lamb and shearling ewe.
According to a spokesperson for the Suffolk Sheep Society LTD, 92% of lots found new homes and averaged £4,825.
3-month-old sheepdog pup sells for record-breaking £10,600
Meanwhile, earlier this month, we reported that a 3-month-old sheepdog pup sold for what was understood to be a “record-breaking” £10,600.
Newbold Caz topped Farmers Marts’ timed internet auction of working sheepdogs, which saw 156 lots go under the hammer.
Newbold Caz by K Evans, Brecon is the daughter of Simon Cottrell’s Jewel and K Evans’ Red Jaff.
“The red and tan pup already showed great potential, as clearly shown in the video on the catalogue.”

According to the spokesperson, other pups sold “incredibly well”. 18-week-old Kemi Jack, also by K Evans, Brecon, found a new owner for £5,300.
The timed internet auction opened to bidding on Monday, July 5th and closed from 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 7th.
Ruby by E Vaughan, Staffordshire took home £5,250 for a red and white 10-week-old pup by the world record-breaking Kim by D Jenkins, which sold for £27,100 earlier this year.
“Bidding was strong and plentiful on well-trained entries and for those showing greatest potential.”
According to the mart spokesperson, the sale achieved an average of £2,700, with the trained section averaging £4,135.
