The young teenager, who died in a farm accident in Co. Clare last week, has been named locally.

John Brennan (14) sustained fatal injures in a tractor-related incident, as reported by us here.

The first-year student at Ennistymon Vocational School will be laid to rest today (Monday, April 27th).

‘Reeling’

In a statement, on Thursday (April 23rd), a spokesperson for Ennistymon Parish Clare, said: “Our parish community is reeling today following the news of the accidental death of one of last year confirmation students from Lahinch National School and now a 1st-year [student] at Ennistymon Vocational School this Thursday morning (April 23rd, 2020) on the family farm.

“Young John Brennan of Maughna and Kilcornan died after the tractor he was driving, slid down a hill.”
