€1,000 reward offered for recovery of 22 ewes

A farmer is offering a €1,000 reward for the return of 22 ewes, which were stolen in Co. Longford earlier this week.

It is understood that the theft occurred in the Kileen, Granard area of the county between Wednesday night (February 20th) and the early hours of Thursday morning (February 21st).

“The ewes are a mixture of Suffolk and Mule-crosses. They are 2-3-year-olds and one is a purebred Texel scanned with one lamb.” the owner explained in a listing on Donedeal.ie

“The rest all have blue scanning markings on [their] left side, except for one, which had zero-painted which was empty.”

“If you bought these sheep give us a shout, you won’t be out of money. Or if you have seen any springer ewes killed in the factory or any other information would be greatly appreciated.”
