€1,780 for Belgian-Blue bull at Carnew

There was strong northern demand for all beef cattle at Carnew Mart on Saturday (August 8th), according to David Quinn.

The mart manager reported that the sale attracted some 880 cattle and 40 calves, with an “excellent” demand for all classes.

He pointed out that heavy cattle sold for up to €2,130 – a price that was paid for an 852kg Belgian-Blue bullock.

“Weanlings met an excellent export demand with Belgian-Blues selling to €3.62/kg.”
