Kerry Group announces milk price for July supplies

Kerry Group has announced its milk price for July 2021 supplies.

Today’s (Monday, August 16th) announcement follows Glanbia and Lakeland Dairies last week.

Kerry Group milk price July 2021:

In a statement, a spokesperson for the milk processor said:

“Our Kerry Group milk price for July milk supplies is 36c/l (incl VAT) at 3.30% protein, 3.60% butterfat and 39.44c/l incl VAT at EU Standard Constituents 3.40% protein/4.20% butterfat.”

“This includes, in line with our Kerry Group milk contract commitment, an additional 1c/l incl VAT on all milk supplied in July 2021 (excluding milk supplied under fixed-price contracts).”

“Based on Kerry’s average milk solids for July, the milk price return inclusive of VAT and bonuses is 39c/l,” the spokesperson concluded.

June milk price

Last month, a spokesperson said:

“Our Kerry Group base price for June milk supplies is 35c/l incl VAT at 3.30% Prot/3.60% Bfat and 38.44c/l incl Vat at EU standard constituents 3.40% protein/4.20% butterfat.”

“Based on Kerry’s average milk solids for June, the milk price return inclusive of VAT and bonuses is 38.08c/l.”

It increased its base price for May milk supplies by 1c/l to 35c/l incl VAT at 3.30% Prot/3.60% Bfat and 38.44c/l incl VAT at EU standard constituents 3.40% Prot/4.20% Bfat.

Other milk price updates

Lakeland Dairies was the first processor to announce its milk price for July 2021.

In the ROI, the processor will pay 36 cpl, including VAT, for milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, Lakeland Dairies has held its milk price for July at 29.2p/litre.

A spokesperson stated that the co-operative will continue to monitor the market “closely” in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, Glanbia was the second processor to set its price for July 2021 milk supplies.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Glanbia said:

“Glanbia will pay its member milk suppliers 35.6 cent per litre (cpl) (including VAT) for July creamery milk supplies at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.”

“Glanbia Ireland (GI) will pay a base milk price for July of 35.18 cpl (including VAT) for creamery milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein. This is unchanged from the June base price.”

Farmer members will also receive a 0.42 cpl (including VAT) payment from Glanbia Co-op on all milk supplied this month as their Share of GI Profit.

“The Glanbia Ireland base price and Co-op Share of GI Profit payment will be adjusted to reflect the actual constituents of milk delivered by suppliers.”

The Glanbia milk price for July creamery milk, based on LTO constituents of 4.2% butterfat and 3.4% protein, is 38.73 cpl.
