Ennis Mart report – cattle prices – 22-04-2021

According to a spokesperson, almost 500 lots went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Thursday, April 22nd.

Speaking following the sale, a spokesperson said: “Some great cull cows and many with good flesh and these were well appreciated by the buyers. There was a great trade for the beef cow.”

“Heifer quality somewhat more variable but quality lots still attracting very strong prices.  A number of aged bulls on offer also and these met a strong trade and averaged €1.90/kg with a top call of €2,120 for a CH of 1,130kgs.”

Prices at Ennis Mart last week

According to a spokesperson, almost 300 cull cows and 200 heifers went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Thursday, April 15^th, 2021.

They reported a “very strong trade all round with some exceptional prices for some top-quality stock”.

“Great demand for feeder cows also. Some very good Friesian cull cows available today. Forward heifers well sought after. “

“A number of aged bulls on offer also and these made on average €1.79/kg. A Charolais of 1,020kgs making €1,960 was the top call and a Limousin of 790kgs made €1,740.” the spokesperson added.
