VIDEO: 248-acre residential farm in Westmeath sells for €2.79m

Ringtown House, a circa 248-acre residential farm in Castlepollard, County Westmeath, sold for €2,790,000 when it went for auction earlier this week.

Murtagh Bros, Mullingar, County Westmeath sold the farm by online auction on Thursday, May 27th on behalf of the reps of the late Mona Smyth. The auctioneering firm guided the property at €2 million.

One-of-a-kind setting 

Ahead of the auction, the selling agent described Ringtown House as a “traditional detached 2-storey farmhouse set on c.197 acres of excellent free draining lands overlooking Lough Derravaragh”.

There are two further outfarms, c.51-acres in total, located less than 5 minutes from the main property.

Furthermore, all the lands are in permanent pasture and have been “well farmed and maintained throughout the years”.

Approached from the road by a sweeping driveway, this mid-19th century elevated residence offers “complete privacy and wonderful views” of Lough Derravaragh.
