Beef Shorthorns sell to 3,000gns at Dungannon Mart

Bidders meant business at the native breeds sale held at Dungannon Farmers’ Mart, with Beef Shorthorn bulls and females selling at “solid“ returns.

Hitting the top call of 3,000 guineas was an eye-catching Hussar of Upsalle son, presented by D&E McNulty. This quality roan two-year-old was snapped up by C Warnock, Newmills.

Also in the money was Stephen Millar who secured 2,700 guineas for his July-2019-born Elliot Matrix son. He travels to Newtownstewart with purchaser, David Wauchob.

Females

There was also “spirited” bidding for the select offering of Beef Shorthorn females.

Croft Noreen caught M Coburn’s eye (Banbridge), who forked out 2600 guineas to secure her. Richard Henderson acquired this “smart” roan heifer out of stock bull, Tullyjac Lightning.
