Customers ‘anxious’ to secure stock at Kilkenny Mart

Kilkenny Mart – Cattle Sale – Thursday, February 18th, 2021

Welcome to this week’s Kilkenny Mart report. Some 500 entries were presented for sale at the mart on Thursday, February 18th, according to George Candler.

The mart’s auctioneer reported a “much sharper trade” for bullocks and heifers, with customers “anxious” to secure stock.

“A somewhat bigger sale of cattle compared to last week with most lots meeting a sharper trade. There was a 98% clearance for both bullocks and heifers with cull cows producing a 100%.”

“The fact that numbers were small was also a contributing factor towards a positive trade.”
