Prices max out at €2,620 in ‘excellent’ trade in Kilkenny – Candler

Kilkenny Mart – Cattle Prices – 20-04-2023

According to George Candler, a larger yard of cattle – some 1,450 lots – came under the hammer at Kilkenny Mart on Thursday, April 20^th, 2023.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that top-quality continental bullocks and heifers met with an “excellent” trade with prices from €2.60/kg to €3.70/kg.

Candler commented: “Quality in both the bullock and heifer rings was not as good. The previous week’s turnover was just shy of €1.6 million.”

“At Thursday’s sale, a bigger entry of cull cows met with an excellent trade with quality lots in short supply in this ring,” Candler commented.
