Turnover reaches €1m at Kilkenny’s final cattle sale of 2022

According to George Candler, circa 900 cattle crossed the scales at Kilkenny Mart’s final sale of 2022 on Thursday, December 15^th.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that its most recent general cattle sale generated a turnover of €1 million.

Speaking following the sale, he commented: “Our most recent sale was a big sale, considering it was the last cattle sale of the year.”

“Cull cows accounted for 185 head with a special sale of 45 spring-calving sucklers which saw prices range from €1400 to €1950 per head.”

“Our next cattle sale takes place on Thursday, January 5^th, 2023. Happy Christmas to you all, and a healthy and happy 2023. 2022 was an excellent year for Kilkenny Mart,” Candler concluded.
