Kilkenny Mart – cattle prices – 10-06-2021
According to George Candler, some 600 lots were on offer at Kilkenny Mart on Thursday, June 10th, 2021.
The mart’s auctioneer reported that a smaller entry went under the hammer, although an “excellent trade all-round resulted in a 100% clearance”.
“Trade for beef-type and forward store bullocks and heifers could be described as electric. Cull cows met a fast selling trade with a top call of €1,900 for a Charolais, weighing 830kgs,” Candler added.

According to George Candler, all cattle met with an “excellent” trade at Kilkenny Mart on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021.
The mart’s auctioneer reported that all cull cows and heifers recorded a 100% clearance, while 97% of bullocks found new homes.
“For the record, 47% of the cattle were sold online even though potential buyers are allowed into the ring observing social distancing. Bullocks over 600kgs averaged €1,473 compared to €1,275 for the same sale last year.”
“Heifers over 600kgs averaged €1,593 with the same week in 2020 recording an average of €1231,” Candler added.
