Kilkenny Mart report – sheep prices – 09-08-2021

According to George Candler, a larger entry comprising some 670 lots were on offer at Kilkenny Mart on Monday, August 9^th, 2021.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that heavy lambs, 60kgs, peaked at €154/head.

“Cull ewes met with an excellent trade at a top call of €226. A sharper trade compared to last week, resulted in a 100% clearance,” Candler added.

Kilkenny Mart report – cattle prices – 05-08-2021

According to George Candler, over 750 lots were on offer at Kilkenny Mart’s cattle sale on Thursday, August 5^th, 2021.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that trade remained “strong” for beef and forward stores in the bullock and heifer rings.

“Beef and forward stores in demand. Lighter, fancy continental bullocks and heifers also sold well.”

• 500-600kgs – €1.60-€2.85/kg or €820-€1,550/head;
