Plainer cattle a harder sell at Kilkenny

Kilkenny Mart – Cattle Prices – 07-04-2022

According to George Candler, some 1,250 lots passed through the ring at Kilkenny Mart on Thursday, April 7^th, 2022.

The mart’s auctioneer reported that a “slightly smaller” entry went under the hammer compared to the previous week’s sale.

He explained that trade for forward store and beef-type bullocks and heifers was similar to last week.

Besides, plainer-types were “more difficult to sell due to harsh weather and a lack of grass”.
