Kanturk Mart – Cattle Prices – 25-10-2022
According to Kanturk Mart’s Michael Scanlon, just under 600 cattle, including 105 cull cows, changed hands at its most recent sale on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022.
He reported that the sale attracted a “fine” turnout of cattle, with prices to €2,560 in the bullock ring, €1,350 in the heifer ring and €1,800 in the cull cow category.
Speaking following the sale, he said: “The standout price at the sale today was for AA bullocks weighing 1000kg, making €2560.”
“His comrade, weighing 920kg, made €2280. We had a complete clearance with prices for all stock holding firm,” he added.
Bullock prices:
- AA – 1000kg – €2560;
- AA – 920kg – €2280;
- 4 AA – 695kg – €1680;
- 2 SIM – 540kg – €1410;
- 8 AA – 590kg – €1420.
Heifer prices:
- 1 LM – 550kg – €1350;
- 4 AA – 545kg – €1340;
- 4 FR – 610kg – €1190;
- 1 AA – 535kg – €1190.
Cull cow prices:
- LM – 815kg – €1800;
- 1 BB – 645kg – €1530;
- 1 FR – 800kg – €1500;
- 1 FR – 750kg – €1460.
Last week’s cattle prices
According to Michelle Hallihan, some 660 crossed the scales at Kanturk Mart’s most recent cattle sale on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022.
She reported that there “was a lively buzz around Kanturk Mart with a full clearance recorded.
“Top prices were paid for top quality cattle coming off grass. Weanlings were also a very good trade in ring 2 with a top price of €2.71/kg,” she added.
Bullock prices:
- HEX – 600kg – €1450;
- 8 AAX – 538kg – €1270;
- AAX – 530kg – €1190;
- 6 HEX – 470kg – €1040;
- LMX – 440kg – €1100;
- 6 HEX – 390kg – €890;
- 7 AAX – 390kg – €890.
Cull cow prices:
- CHX – 735kg – €1620;
- FR – 720kg – €1560;
- AA – 675kg – €1320;
- FR – 665kg – €1240;
- FR – 480kg – €1180.
