Scawfell Genetics Ltd has launched ibreeder, a new cattle genetics trading platform.
This fulfils the company’s all-encompassing genetics offering, including stud collections for export, on-farm collection, semen processing, semen storage and distribution.
Its new platform provides a simple, easy-to-use system for anyone wanting to buy or sell bull semen from all cattle breeds.
Its platform aims to provide customers and the wider industry with the ability to “market and deliver their genetics to other breeders in both the domestic and international marketplace”.
Currently, there is semen available from various Limousin, Charolais, Belgian Blue, Shorthorn, Simmental, Parthenaise and Hereford sires.
In a statement to That’s Farming, James Hazard, managing director of Scawfell Genetics, said:
“At Scawfell Genetics Ltd, we believe in choice, good value and transparency to give a service that we wanted to use as breeders ourselves.”
“We are now one of only two independently owned genetics companies that are able to offer third party services to breeders across the UK for both on stud collection for export and on-farm domestic collections.”
“Using our collective experiences, we have been able to employ the latest processing and distribution technology to ensure a package tailored to modern livestock breeding.”
“Adding ibreeder to our line-up of services offered to the customer completes the package. We collect, process, store and distribute and now via ibreeder can market and sell genetics on the customer’s behalf.”
“Working with us, you will discover a clear and simple process that gives you maximum benefits. Any Scawfell Genetics storage customer can advertise on ibreeder for FREE.”
“Furthermore, as breeders, we appreciate the value of great genetics and maximising its potential. Finally, we look forward to working with you to achieve the best results,” he concluded.
