Ennis Mart report – cattle prices – 25-03-2021

A large entry of cull cows and heifers went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Thursday, March 25^th, 2021, according to a spokesperson.

A small entry of bulls sold to a top call of €1,940 for a Limousin of 1,075kgs.

Speaking following the sale, the spokesperson said: “Again, some very fancy prices for some exceptional quality heifers. A very strong trade for cows today, both feeders and beef-type lots.”

Heifers:

• BBX – 490kgs – €1,740 – €3.55/kg;
• BAX – 595kgs – €1,510 – €2.54/kg;
• BB – 575kgs – €2,450 – €4.28/kg;

Ennis Mart – cattle prices – 23-03-2021

Almost 1,100 entries went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, March 23^rd, 2021, according to a spokesperson.

They reported a “strong trade” overall as entries sold to €1,980 at the weekly cattle sale.

“A dash of aged dairy cows made to €1,510.  Suckler pairings made to €1,980 and in-calf lots made to €1,400.”

“Light Friesian bull calves ranged from €25 to €75 with better calves making €80 to €155. Furthermore, Aberdeen-Angus-cross calves made €195 to €255 and Hereford calves ranged from €245 to €375.”

“A good Charolais bull calf made to €530. Some nice quality Belgian Blue-cross calves made to €455.”

“Trade for bull and heifer weanlings was similar to last week. Quality was a bit more variable in the bulls, but a better run of heifers.” the spokesperson concluded.
