Headford Mart report – cattle and sheep prices – 24-04-2021

According to a spokesperson, another large of cattle went under the hammer at Headford Mart on Saturday, April 24^th, 2021.

• Bullocks ranged from €1.52 to €3.60 per kg or €205 to €1015 over the kg. Top price over the kg – a CHX – 785kg – €1800 – €2.29/kg (lot 18E). Top price per kg – a LMX – 275kg – €990, – €3.60/kg (lot 14H).
• Heifers climbed from €1.64 to €3.35 per kg or €215 to €840 over the kg. Top price over kg – a LMX – 410kg – €1250 – €3.05/kg (lot 35A). Top price per kg – a CHX – 215kg – €720 – €3.35/kg (lot 38E).
• Weanling heifers pushed from €2.09 to €3.23 per kg or €280 to €695 over the kg. Top price over the kg – a CHX – 345kg – €1040 – €3.01/kg (lot 40E). Top price per kg – a pair of CHX – 155kg – €500 – €3.23/kg (lot 41X).
• Weanling bulls varied from €1.49 to €3.17 per kg or €182 to €690 over the kg. Top price over the kg – AA – 630kg – €1320 – €2.10/kg. (Lot 50J). Top price per kg – a LMX – 300kg – €950 – €3.17/kg (lot 51T).
• Cull cows sold from €1.05/kg to €2.29/kg or €600 to €1760 for an 11-year-old AA, 800kg;
• Cow and calf pairings fetched up to €1,660 for a 5-year-old AAX cow with a Feb-2021 AAX heifer calf.

• Bullocks ranged from €1.49 to €3.67 per kg or €220 to €1015 over the kg;
• Heifers climbed from €1.70 to €3.07 per kg or €140 to €925 over the kg;
• Weanling heifers pushed from €1.97 to €2.94 per kg or €260 to €720;
• Weanling bulls went under the hammer from €1.60 to €3.90 per kg or €285 to €770 over;
• Cull cows from €1.25/kg to €2.38/kg or €660 to €1760;
• Cow and calf pairings fetched €1,490.

Sheep:

Ewes with lambs at foot ranged from €196 to €236 for first-crop ewes with singles at foot. Culls/breeders ranged from €60 to €160.

Hoggets/spring lambs ranged from €120 to €182 or €2.83 to €3.83 per kg:

• 5kg – €178 – €3.83/kg;
• 48kg – €182 – €3.79/kg;
• 43kg – €160 – €3.72/kg;
• 43kg – €158 – €3.67/kg;
• 46kg – €166 – €3.61/kg;
• 41kg – €145 – €3.54/kg;
• 42kg – €145 – €3.45/kg.

• Ewes with lambs at foot ranged from €125 to €292 for 1^stcrop ewes with couples at foot;
• Culls/breeders went under the hammer from €60 to €168;
