Ennis Mart report – bullock prices – 23-04-2021

According to a spokesperson, just over 300 bullocks were on offer at Ennis Mart on Friday, April 23^rd, 2021.

They reported that some quality stores met “a serious trade and achieved up to €3/kg”.

“Again, quite a number of forward cattle available and a very strong trade and quite a few going north of the border again. The traditional breeds also met a serious trade, especially if they were any way forward.”

Ennis Mart 16-04-2021:

According to a spokesperson, over 400 bullocks went under the hammer at the Clare-based mart on Friday, April 16^th, 2021.

They reported that “trade was very strong, especially for any forward type cattle with €1,000 with the weight fairly common for heavy cattle”.

“The old proverb of ‘a rising tide lifting all boats’ is very relevant at the moment, with forward Friesian bullocks hitting €2.27 a kilo.  Quality stores also much sought after.”
