Ennis Mart report – cattle prices – 20-05-2021

According to a spokesperson, over 400 lots went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Thursday, May 20^th, 2021.

They reported that forward stock remained a “very strong trade” in both rings.  “There was a large entry of aged bulls which averaged €1.89/kg and a LM of 1,125kgs made €2,350.”

“We had both online and ringside bidding and this made no change to prices. A number of buyers have continued to conduct their business online, as they have become comfortable with the system,” the spokesperson added.

According to a spokesperson, some 600 lots, including some 140 calves, went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, May 18^th, 2021.

A spokesperson reported that ringside and online activity generated a “strong trade” in the calf ring. They reported that the majority of calves on offer were continentals, with a top call of €645.

“Bull trade strong also with quite a few autumn-born weanlings again. Again, the quality heifers a very fine trade and a few farmers about for a breeding heifer.”
