Ennis Mart report – cattle prices – 18-03-2021

“Trade could be described as positive all-round” were the words of an Ennis Mart spokesperson, who commented following its recent sale of cull cows and heifers held on Thursday, March 18^th, 2021.

“Some very good cows on offer with plenty of beef on them. These were a great trade, with one customer having 30 cows standing €2.04/kg.”

“Heifers were a great trade with a few exceptional prices for a few super heifers. Some good aged bulls on offer also, and again, a very strong trade.”

Ennis Mart report – cattle prices – 16-03-2021

Over 1,000 cattle were on offer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, March 16^th, 2021, according to a spokesperson.

They reported a “strong” trade for stock with a top call of €2,730 for suckler pairs.

“Trade was strong in all rings. It was the first day we had some dairy stock on offer; these were a super trade, with cows in their fourth to sixth lactations making €1,430 to €1,970 for good British-type cows.”

“In-calf stock made to €1,470. Calves were a great trade with Friesian bulls from €50 to €190.”

“A few very light calves made €10 to €40.  HEX calves made €185 to €400, with continental calves making to €475. Aberdeen-Angus-crosses ranged from €175 to €375.  Both weanling bulls and heifers a very strong trade.”
