Ennis Mart – Cattle Prices – 13-12-2022
According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, weather conditions drove fewer numbers to its general cattle sale on Tuesday, November 13th, 2022.
The spokesperson reported that “just over 50% of entries turned up” to its weanling, suckler and calf sale.
With a “mixed” run of suckler stock on offer, in-calf entries soared to €1,460, while, with a limited number of suckler pairs, these made to €1,800.
They commented: “Trade was exceptionally strong in both the bull and heifer rings.”
“Shippers and farmers extremely active in the bull ring and drove the trade to €4.00/kg for some lots, while heifers reached €3.86/kg,” the spokesperson concluded.

Last week’s cattle prices
According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, just over 600 lots crossed the scales at its cattle sale on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022.
The spokesperson reported that trade was “very strong” as farmers were “very active”, while there was “strong” shipping activity in the bull weanling ring also.
A small entry of calves came under the hammer, and these made to €460, while in the suckler ring, €2,480 was the top call for an in-calf lot and pairs in this ring made to €2,520.
“There was a great appetite for stock all around at Tuesday’s sale,” the spokesperson noted.
