Ennis Mart report – cattle prices – 10-08-2021

According to a spokesperson, just over 300 lots were on offer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, August 10^th, 2021.

They reported that “trade good only be described as very good”.

Heifers reached €2,600, while a small entry of calves topped out at €700 – a price paid for a three-and-a-half-month-old LMX bull.

“A nice entry of sucklers met a brisk trade. Pairs climbed to €2,050, and in-calf stock made to €1,950,” the spokesperson added.

• LIM – 270kgs – €900 – €3.33/kg;
• 2 CHX – 395kgs – €1,210 – €3.06/kg;

According to a spokesperson, weanling entry numbers were similar to the previous week at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, August 3^rd, 2021.

The spokesperson reported that there was a “slight increase” in runner numbers on the previous week.

“Calf numbers were small with a 3-month-old Charolais bull calf making €670. Pairs in the suckler ring made €1,860.”

“Quite a few heifers were over the 400kg mark. Top-quality bulls frequently hit €3/kg, especially for bulls up to 350kgs. Again, good heifers were sought after,” the spokesperson added.
