Smaller entry of cattle at Ennis Mart as silage takes priority

Ennis Mart – cattle prices – 08-06-2021

According to a spokesperson, a smaller entry consisting of some 350 lots went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, June 8th, 2021.

They cited silage season and weather conditions of late as the primary reasons for a smaller entry in comparison to the previous week. Over 500 lots were on offer at the mart on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021.

“Trade was on a par with last week. Just over 90 calves on offer. Most of these calves were reared and ready for grass.”

“Friesian bulls made €160, Aberdeen-Angus-cross and Hereford-cross calves made to €390.”

“A small entry of sucklers made to €1,870, that being for a Belgian Blue-cross cow and Limousin-cross heifer calf at foot,” the spokesperson added.
