Ennis Mart report – cull cow and heifer prices – 08-04-2021
Cow numbers remained steady, while heifer numbers declined at Ennis Mart on Thursday, April 8th, 2021, according to a spokesperson.
They reported a “very strong trade all round” with a “super trade” for heifers with breeding potential.
“Some very good cows again and a good mix of beef and stores in this ring. Aged bulls also met a strong trade with a Limousin of 965kgs at €1,800 and bulls averaged €1.96/kg.” the spokesperson added.

Ennis Mart – cattle prices – 01-04-2021
A smaller entry went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Thursday, April 1st, 2021, according to a spokesperson.
They reported that trade held “very strong” with a top call of €2,790 for a Belgian Blue cull cow, weighing 860kgs.
“Numbers slightly back in both the heifer and the cow ring. Aged bulls were a very good trade too and averaged €1.99/kg with a BB of 960kgs hitting €2,000. Also, a very good LM bull of 990kgs making €1,840.”
Ennis Mart report – cattle sale – 06-04-2021
Over 900 entries went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, April 6th, according to a spokesperson.
They reported a “strong trade all-round” with “some very fancy prices for some heifers”.
“Quite a number of autumn-born stock appearing and some very good prices for these in both bull and heifer rings.” the spokesperson remarked.
“Suckler stock were a great trade for pairs and made to €2,600. In the calf ring, the number of Friesians are falling, and these made €50 to €90.”
Furthermore, Aberdeen-Angus-cross calves made €90 to €320, while Hereford-cross calves ranged from €100 to €320. “A top-quality Limousin bull calf made €560. Belgian-Blue calves made to €460 and a few dairy stock made to €1,690.” the spokesperson concluded.
