Ballymote Mart report – cattle prices – 17-06-2021

According to a spokesperson Ballymote Mart’s special dry cow and special Angus and Hereford Sale on Thurday, June 17^th, saw “an exceptional trade with very high demand”.

“There was a great demand from ringside and online customers for the Angus bullocks and weanling bulls on offer leading to some fancy prices.”

Bullocks under 400 kg made from €300 to €645 over:

• AAX – 345 KG – €990;
• AAX – 365 KG – €990;
• AAX – 365 KG – €960;
• AAX – 360 KG – €950.

Lots 400 to 500 kg ranged from €600 to €745 over:

• AAX – 425 KG – €1170;
• AAX – 460 KG – €1100.

Heavier lots realised €830 over:

• HEX – 585 KG – €1350;
• CHX – 630 KG – €1460;
• HEX – 555 KG – 1300.

Heifers under 400 kg climbed from €350 to €700 over:

• CHX – 340 KG – €1040;
• CHX – 385 KG – €1070;
• AAX – 395 KG – 1060

Lots 400 to 500 kg made from 500 to 700 over

• PTX – 440 KG – €1140;
• LMX – 460 KG – €1150;
• AAX – 460 KG – €1120.

Heavier lots topped out at €755 over:

• CHX – 575 KG – €1330;
• LMX – 580 KG – €1320;
• CHX – 500 KG – €1230.

Dry cow prices

According to the spokesperson, the sale attracted “some exceptional continental cull cows with intense demand”.

Stores (Friesian-types made from €400 to €800 per animal) and continental store types ranged from €400 to €650 over.
