Hennessy Auctioneers will put a 108-acre farm holding in Keeloge North, Camross, Co Laois, under the hammer next month.

It will offer the “sizeable” block of grazing ground in one division for sale through an online auction on Friday, October 28th, 2022, at 3p m.

The firm will offer the farm for sale in up to four lots:

  • Circa 28.5 acres of agricultural land;
  • Circa 52.4 acres with a farm yard;
  • Circa 27.9 acres of Agricultural Land;
  • The entire (lots 1, 2 & 3 combined).

According to a spokesperson for the firm, the farmyard contains two four-span slatted tanks under lean-to roofs, and there is an open silage pit with walls (approx. 80 x 40). The yard also contains several loose sheds and some old stone buildings.

Moreover, there is an unfinished dwelling house of block construction, which started over four decades ago, beside the farmyard.

There are approximately 1,000m of road frontage with this Laois farm.

Commenting on the listing, a spokesperson for Hennessy Auctioneers said:

“The farm is well fenced with water laid on throughout. There is approx. 10-acres of the lands which are under some scrub and in need of reclamation.”

“The rest of the farm is laid out in generous-sized fields. There was circa 8-9 acres, which was under forestry and has been clear felled and recently replanted to Sitka spruce.”

“This is a good grass farm. It would make an ideal out farm or a standalone unit possibly for dairying, beef, sheep, or equestrian pursuits.”

Location

The farm is nestled in an area of “tranquil beauty” surrounded by some forestry and rising hills.

This farm is approximately 3 miles along the Kinnity/Roscrea Road out of Camross. It is in the region of 10 miles from Mountrath, 8 miles from Borris in Ossory and about 10 miles from Roscrea.
