Castlerea Mart report – cattle prices – 16-09-2021
According to Brendan Egan, a large entry of stock went under the hammer at Castlerea Mart’s annual show and sale of continental weanlings on 16-09-2021.
The mart manager reported that “the quality on offer was of a very high standard”.
This, he reported, reflected in the trade on offer as weanling heifers pushed up to €4.25/kg, while weanling bulls topped out at €4.05/kg.
Egan remarked: “The trade was a welcome boost to the suckler industry as farmers were rewarded for their quality lots.”

Egan reported that some 250 entries met with a “good demand” at Monday’s bullock sale.
