Castlerea Mart – Cattle Prices – 04-08-2022
According to Brendan Egan, in some cases, trade improved at Castlerea Mart’s cattle sale on Thursday, August 4th, 2022.
The mart manager reported that a larger entry came under the hammer at its most recent sale.
He explained that prices “held well” with some “very fancy” prices for quality store cattle.
Egan noted that “the weanling rings have started very brightly”, with bulls to €3.67/kg and weanling heifers to €4.25/kg.
In the bullock ring, prices peaked at €2,360, while heifers sold to €2,330 and dry cows topped out at €2,320.
