Prices to €2,080 in ‘very strong’ trade at Carnew

According to David Quinn, some 980 cattle crossed the scales at Carnew Mart’s most recent cattle sale on Saturday, October 29^th, 2022.

The mart manager reported that a “very strong” trade – which was similar to the previous week – prevailed, with prices to €2,080.

Bullocks

• Cont Beef/Forward – €1650-€2080;
• Cont Store – €1080-€1720;
• Heavy AA/HE – €1350-€1680;
• Store AA/HE – €850-€1310;
• Heavy FR – €1100-€1650;
• Lighter FR – €500-€1020.

Prices:

• LM – 664kg at €2030;
• CHX – 620kg at €1920;
• LMX – 728kg at €1920;
• CH – 622kg at €1800;
• CHX – 572kg at €1600;
• CHX – 516kg at €1430;
• AAX – 342kg at €760;
• PTX – 344kg at €810.

Heifers

Previous week’s cattle sale

According to David Quinn, over 1,350 lots changed hands at Carnew Mart on Saturday, October 22^nd, 2022.

The mart manager reported that a “very strong” selling trade prevailed at its most recent sale.

He explained that “the sale attracted a large number of customers with farmers and feedlot buyers very active”.

“Prices were similar to last week with tops of €2,180 for cull cows,” Quinn added.

• Friday Ring 1– Dry cows commencing at 4.00pm – depending on time of year
• Saturday Ring 1– Dry cows commencing at 9.30am. Other categories commencing at 10.30am ringside and online.
