Carnew: Feedlot buyers ‘back with a bang’ for all cattle 500kgs+

According to David Quinn, over 1,100 lots came under the hammer at Carnew Mart on Saturday, August 27^th, 2022.

The mart manager reported that lighter stores were “very much” in demand from farmers looking to restock after selling cattle.

He commented that “all classes met a very lively trade throughout with both northern customers and wholesalers anxious for all types of beef.”

“Meanwhile, feedlot buyers are back with a bang for all cattle 500kg plus,” he remarked.

At Saturday’s sale, cows topped out at €2,380, while heifers peaked at €2,050 and bullocks hit €2,320.
