Carnew Mart report – cattle prices – 14-08-2021
According to David Quinn, an entry of over 700 cattle met with an “improved trade all around” at Carnew Mart on Saturday, August 14th, 2021.
The mart manager reported that farmers drove the trade for lighter store cattle, while feedlot, factory agents, and wholesalers drove the trade for beef and forward cattle.

Calves
According to Quinn, 85 calves were on offer at the weekly general cattle sale.
“Aberdeen Angus and Hereford bulls sold €190 to €255 Hereford and Aberdeen Angus heifers ranged from €135 to €255.”
Reared Friesian calves changed hands from €220 to €310. Meanwhile, reared Hereford and Angus calves went under the hammer from €340 to €450. Continental calves detched from €460 to €570/head.

- Saturday Ring 1– Dry cows commencing at 9.30am. Other categories commencing at 10.30am ringside and online.
- Saturday Ring 2– Calf sale commencing at 11.00am ringside and online.
Cattle may be pre-entered by contacting the office on the week prior to sale day or you can enter by using the mart’s online entry system on its website.
