Carnew: Prices to €2,380 as agents, feetlot buyers and wholesales ‘battle it out’

Carnew Mart – Cattle Prices – 12-11-2022

According to David Quinn, just under 840 lots changed hands at Carnew Mart’s most recent cattle sale on 12-11-2022.

The mart manager reported that a “very strong” trade prevailed for all classes as feedlot buyers, wholesalers and factory agents “battled it out” both online and at the ringside.

Bullocks reached €2,380, while heifers followed at €2,260, and cull cows soared to €2,050 at Saturday’s sale.

Heifers

• Cont beef/forward – €1650-€2260;
• Cont stores – €970-€1580;
• Heavy AA/HE – €1250-€1740;
• Store AA/HE – €750-€1180.

• LM – 742kg at €2260;
• CHX – 734kg at €2180;
• LMX – 448kg at €1830;
• LMX – 664kg at €1790;
• LMX – 650kg at €1720;
• CHX – 340kg at €840;
• CH – 340kg at €840;
• CH – 381kg at €1040.

According to David Quinn, some 980 cattle crossed the scales at Carnew Mart’s cattle sale on Saturday, October 29^th, 2022.

The mart manager reported that a “very strong” trade – which was similar to the previous week – prevailed, with prices to €2,080.
