Carnew Mart Report – Cattle Prices – 06-08-2022
According to David Quinn, another large entry, comprising just over 1,200 lots, passed through the rings at Carnew Mart on Saturday, August 6th, 2022.
The mart manager explained that a “very lively” trade prevailed for both stores and heavy types at its general cattle sale.
He noted that wholesale and northern customers were active online for all types of cattle over 500kgs.
Speaking following the sale, he said: “Beef blasted past €3.00/kg, while weanlings hit €4.20/kg and sucklers sold to €2,660.”
“Many farmers were on hand to buy all types of lighter stores. Exporters and specialist feeders were extremely active for bulls of all types,” he added.

- Saturday Ring 2– Calf sale commencing at 11.00am ringside and online

- Cattle may be pre-entered by contacting the office on the week prior to sale day or you can enter by using the mart’s online entry system on its website.
- Cattle taken in from 7.00am
